Tidewater Cluster

WUU is part of the UUA Southern Region, one of the five UUA regions.

The regional staff are wonderful and provide all sorts of help when we need it. However, it is a really big area with lots of congregations. That's one of the reasons our seven local congregations came together to form the Tidewater Cluster.

The Tidewater Cluster is comprised of seven congregations:

  1. UU Fellowship of Fredericksburg

  2. UU Community Church (Glen Allen)

  3. Coastal Virgina UU (Va. Beach)

  4. UU Fellowship of the Peninsula (Newport News)

  5. UU Fellowship of the Rappahannock (White Stone)

  6. First UU Church (Richmond)

  7. Williamsburg UU

Each year one of the Tidewater Cluster congregations hosts a Cluster Gathering where we come together to worship together, attend workshops, and get to know each other a bit better. This year WUU is hosting the Gathering on Saturday, April 25, from 8am to 4pm. The theme is “Meet the Moment,” and we’re excited to announce that we have a national UUA leader as our keynote speaker – see the flyer in the Gathering Hall for details!

There is a wide range of activities planned.

This is an all-day event, beginning with coffee and check-in at 8 AM, worship, workshops, and a closing ceremony. All ages are invited to attend. Childcare will be available upon request. Continental breakfast and lunch are included in the registration fee. Middle and High School youth are invited to register individually for the Gathering and sign up for workshops they would like to attend. There will be a Youth Forum specifically for them during the second session. There is no registration fee for youth and children 18 and under. Please contact Robin Wootton (dre@wuu.org) for more information about opportunities for youth and children at the Cluster Gathering.

UUFP in Newport News is hosting a Youth Con Friday evening to Sunday morning for Middle and High School youth. They will join the Cluster Gathering on Saturday. Please contact Rev. Andrew (minister@uufp.org) or Joanne Dingus (dre@uufp.org) for more information about the Youth Con.

Register Here! Don’t delay, registration is capped at 200.

You’ll have an opportunity to order your Cluster t-shirt when you register. Don’t miss out!

If you would like to help out as a volunteer and get a slight discount on registration, please sign up here.
