Registration is open for Religious Education; meet and greet this Sunday

WUU begins our religious education program this month. Here are some reminders:

  • Meet and Greet: This Sunday, Oct. 12, families are invited to meet the RE teacher teams and visit the classroom areas in the McGiffert wing. Meet at the Welcome Center after this Sunday service for a family field trip to the area!

  • RE Classes Start: Next Sunday, Oct. 19, our formal religious education program begins. Families attend the service at 10, and at 10:30 the congregation will sing out the children as they leave the Sanctuary for their classes, which end at 11:30. Parents can pick up their children at that time.

  • Teacher Teams: Teacher teams have formed (with three teachers per team) for the lower elementary and upper elementary classes. More teachers and/or assistants are always welcome--we always have at least two adults in each classroom. Contact the RE Task Force at retaskforce@wuu.org to sign up.

  • Children's space on Sunday: Our children are enjoying their own rug space during the service--lots of activities for them. Parents are encouraged to sit in the front left side of the Sanctuary where the children's space is.

  • Nursery Care: The RE Task Force hopes to have nursery care soon.

  • High School Youth: Our YRUU (high school) teachers are also ready and eager to re-start the YRUU program with a new group. Watch for an email announcing time and place, or write to retaskforce@wuu.org.

  • The search committee seeking a Director of RE is advertising for and interviewing candidates for the part-time position.

Many people are helping with our youth and children, and the Task Force is grateful.

Rev. Jude, Rachel Delbos (co-chair), Dave Wilcox (co-chair), Helen Hansen, Linda Lane-Hamilton, Anne Stevens, Jackson Verburg
