RE Updates

Hi all,

ICYMI, I am Robin, the new Director of RE at Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists. I started in November, so I'm not sure when I can stop saying I'm New Here ;) I've heard it said it takes a whole calendar year before you really know your job, but you tell me what you think of that.

Anywayzzzz...

I am excited for all the plans we have for our kids at WUU for this semester with our Sunday programs and some special events for all ages.

Starting next week, Feb. 8, our RE theme is "Creating HOME." HOME can mean a lot of things to different people and we will be exploring our definitions of HOME for kids from PreK to 5th grade through fun conversations about the world around us and the HOME that WUU can be for all of us. They'll have opportunities to learn about family, their own and the one we have at WUU. They also will talk about bees and animal homes, how the Earth is our special home, and we'll hear from some special guests to talk about ways we can take care of our homes.

If this sounds fun to your kiddos, please do come and have fun with us! If you decide to come, please register your kids online so we have all your info, which helps us keep everyone safe!

We also will be starting up our Middle Schoolers on Feb. 8. Grades 6-8 will be meeting in the Little Sanctuary at 10:30 to watch movies and tv shows to help talk about their faith and beliefs about life and God. We are excited about having great conversations with this amazing age group!

And finally, the High School YRUU group will be starting up again on March 1st at 5 PM. We'll have dinner and discussion while making plans for the year. Oh and a S'mores Bar because of course.

That's it for now... as always, for updates, check out the website at www.wuu.org/religious-education

And please always feel free to contact me at dre@wuu.org. I am also mostly at the office on Tue, Wed, Fri from about 10-2 as much as possible. I have kiddos of my own so... ya know how that goes... hope to meet you soon if I haven't already!

Blessings and warmth to all,
Robin
