Adult Faith Development Class: Turning Points in UU History

Adult Faith Development Class: Feb. 11 - March 18

Turning Points in UU History

On February 11, we will begin a 6-week course on important events in the development of Unitarian Universalism. The classes are as follows:

  • Feb 11 – A Break Up Story: Conflict of church and state (the Dedham Case)

  • Feb 18 – Will the Real Universalist Please Rise: How far does universal salvation extend

  • Feb 25 – A Mic Drop Moment: Transcendentalist controversy

  • Mar 4 – Westward Ho!: Women ministers take the message to the frontier

  • Mar 11 – Draw the Circle Wide: Humanism and the Humiliati

  • Mar 18 – Facing Us Still: Race and Empowerment

Harry S. Truman once said: “The only new thing in the world is the history you don’t know.” As I became immersed in my research for these classes, I discovered just how rich and exciting this history was, a history I never knew.

The classes will be held in room 108 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. Registration is limited to 10 WUUs with commitments to attend most or all sessions. Rev. Jude will join the class for the last two sessions.

To sign up, register online.
