Endowment Sunday 2026

Endowment Sunday 2026 is coming on October 18. The plate collection will be contributed to the WUU Endowment, and this is your reminder of your opportunity to contribute to WUU’s future. You can contribute to the plate collection, use text to give, or mail/deliver a check with a memo to Endowment.

The Endowment Fund was chartered in 1996 by the WUU Board and congregational vote. In 1998, 22 charter donors provided funds to open the fund. Gifts remain fully invested for the long-term benefit of WUU. An annual contribution from income is made to the WUU operating budget to provide support for yearly ministries, preserving investment principal to insure a vibrant future of WUU as a liberal religious community.

The majority of contributions is invested with the UUA Common Endowment Fund (UUCEF), which invests in socially responsible and essential ministries in line with WUU’s vision. WUU elects the five-member Endowment Committee (EC) to serve staggered five-year terms to provide endowment oversight and administration.

Your contribution is tax deductible and may be given in two distinct ways on Endowment Sunday…..or anytime.

CASH GIFT: celebrate or honor birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and the memory of a deceased member/friend…or for any reason at all.

LEGACY GIFT: a non-binding promise of a future gift from your estate. You can designate gifts though your will and estate plans, from an insurance policy or IRA, or cash. Today we are honored to have more than 20 legacy gift donors.

In addition to some large gifts, which have boosted the investment balance, small cash gifts have provided a huge portion of the overall investment in WUU’s future. Your contribution counts, whether large or small…once or many.

See you on Endowment Sunday!
