“The Miracle in Your Hands” - Gene Roche, EdD, Guest Worship Leader
Science is one of humanity’s greatest achievements: a disciplined way of turning curiosity into reliable knowledge about who we are, where we came from, and how life became capable of thought, feeling, and compassion. Today we celebrate the scientists—past and present—whose patient work reveals the deep story written in our bodies and minds, enlarging our sense of what it means to be human.

Gene Roche has spent much of his life in education and remains a committed student of science, learning, and humanistic education. He values thoughtful community, honest inquiry, and the quiet miracles of the natural world. He is particularly interested in how science and technology are reshaping what it means to be human—and how we can use these tools wisely in service of compassion, curiosity, and lives of coherence and meaning.
Children begin the service in the Main Sanctuary and at 10:30 will be invited to Religious Education classes at WUU.
