Holiday Underclothing Drive for FISH

During the winter holidays, the WUU always conducts a socks and underwear drive for FISH, but this year they have requested if we might add t-shirts to the list as well. All donations must be new and, of course, unused. All sizes from children’s to extra large adult sizes are appreciated. The drive will last from Sunday, Dec. 7 - Sunday, Jan. 4. I will place two Christmas wrapped boxes outside the Sanctuary doors which will be there for the duration of the drive. Please leave your underclothing donations there.

On another note, we raised 150 bags of groceries for our Thanksgiving drive! We more than doubled our donation from October. Our generosity to our neighbors in need was noticed and greatly appreciated. Thanks to all of you who helped me fill up my car after services throughout November. Although the government shutdown is over, there are many who fear to leave their homes due to the presence of ICE, and who depend on others to pick up food and clothing in their name. I hope you will continue to think of these people and continue to give generously to our red food wagon, and participate in our underclothing drive. Please refer to the list of food items needed in the Spiral.

Lastly, Rev. Jude is asking that those who can donate extra large baby diapers to Grove Christian Outreach please bring them and leave them in, or around, the red wagon. If anyone lives out that way and can deliver diapers donated, please inform me or Rev. Jude.

Have a peaceful and happy holiday season,

Katrina Landon
