October President’s Report

by Helen Hansen, WUU Board President

Have you noticed a new optimism at WUU? Although many of us have concerns about the current state of our country, we gather in community each Sunday morning and at other times during the week to share our UU values. We welcome visitors with smiles, coffee, conversation, and an invitation to spiritual connection without creed or dogma.

The WUU Board, Program Council, and Rev. Jude met last month to enrich our relationship with each other, and consider ways to carry out our mission.

WUU Mission Statement

To Serve

Our members and friends by providing a welcoming, inclusive community to explore and encourage personal spiritual growth.

Greater Williamsburg by promoting religious, racial, and social harmony.

Liberal Religion by embodying Unitarian Universalist values within our congregation and in society at large.

The Global Community by participating in transformative action to achieve a sustainable and humane world.

I encourage you to actively engage in our mission however and whenever you can. Please read the Spiral each week and check out our newly designed website to discover ways you can serve.

“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there ‘is’ such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.”

― Martin Luther King Jr.
