WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
ART: Taught by professional artists, the workshops will provide experiences in a variety of media and skills. Students will learn a wide range of techniques and explore meaning and storytelling through their work. Students' work will be gathered and displayed in our art gallery during the Children's Festival.
Some art studio classes will work on designing and building a set and props for the theatre workshop. Some may also create maps and other elements for the Dungeons & Dragons workshop.
WRITING: A published author and experienced writing tutor will be leading exercises in fiction, nonfiction, developing characters, story lines, and building worlds for fantasy genres.
Dungeons & Dragons workshop will also include world building, character development, and maps! Students will have a multi-media experience of writing and art and roleplay creation.
THEATRE: These workshops will include the art of improv techniques and games to help students explore their range in acting AND in writing their own plays to tell stories. Students will have the opportunity to work together to write original short plays to be performed at our Children's Festival.
