This month we are reading…
A work…or two…or three…
By
WENDELL BERRY
Wendell Berry was an icon—a “great” in the conservation community. From fiction to essays to poetry, Berry wrote prolifically throughout his long life: the poem “The Peace of Wild Things,” the book The Unsettling of America, “Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front,” the Port William novels, the Sabbath poems, and much, much more.
He died on August 31st of this year.
It’s far too hard to choose any one of Berry’s works to read, so we’re asking that everyone choose something from among his many works that “shimmers” for them, then come to our meeting on Sunday, November 22, to share with us what you read and what you thought about it. A single poem? An essay? One of his collections of essays? A book of poetry? A novel? We look forward to learning your choice and your reactions!
Join us on Sunday, November 22, at 11:30 am.
