Last UU History Class This Year This Sunday

Join Rev. Jude and the Faith Development team this Sunday, Dec. 7, for the last UU History 101 session focused on the roles of two important UU women, Lucile Schuck Longview and Marjorie Bowens-Wheatley, who advocated for changes around sexism and racism and served as mentors for many clergy in our faith. The class starts at 11:30 in the Sanctuary. Please remember to leave cups with the hospitality team before attending.

This fall the UU History 101 course has focused on significant Unitarians, Universalists and Unitarian Universalists from our history--Servetus, Channing and Child; de Benneville and Sinkford; Emerson and Peabody; Harper, Brown and Parker; and Longview and Bowens-Wheatley. If you were unable to attend these sessions, you can conduct your own explorations of these historical figures--all of whom reflect our complex, sometimes uncomfortable, often revolutionary history.

New Faith Development courses will be taught in the winter/spring semester—the January WUU News and Spiral and a special brochure will list classes. Thank you to the 30 or 40 of you who have attended one or more UU history courses this fall, and to the two WUU groups who participated in the Wellspring sessions facilitated by Rev. Jude two Wednesdays a month.
