Earth Care Book Club Discussion Dec. 7

The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer

Little Sanctuary

This Sunday, after the service, come join us in the Little Sanctuary for a discussion of Robin Wall Kimmerer’s book, The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World

The author of Braiding Sweetgrass, Kimmerer distills a lot into The Serviceberry, encouraging us to “learn from Indigenous wisdom and the plant world,” reimagining our relationship with the natural world.

Do you think we need to reimagine our relationship with the natural world? Do you think it would even be possible to do so? What kind of changes would we need to make in our lives to make this sort of transition? Even though this is a small book, there is a lot to think about and discuss within its pages.

We hope you’ll join us, even if you haven’t read the book yet. If you have read the book, we look forward to hearing your thoughts about this latest work from Robin Wall Kimmerer, a vivid voice who is working to build a bridge between modern science and the ancient ways of the Indigenous people who have lived on this land for thousands of years.
