September Message from the Minister
Welcome to the start of a new Congregational Year!
August has been a wonderful beginning where I’ve had the chance to meet so many of our community. I do hope to meet more and more of us as the months go by. Always feel free to email me to set up an appointment, especially if we haven’t met yet.
I’ve heard from many of you that there’s a desire to rejuvenate the once-active community life in our building throughout the week. I am glad to report that committees, and teams, and broader programming are doing well again, even in the “quiet” Summer months. But we’d love to rekindle an active lay volunteer culture in the day to the day life of our UU.
Rachel and Joe are ready to work with more folks during the week, for those who would like to occasionally offer their talents in the office, or on the grounds. Whether it might be working through our historical archives, or helping with organizing in religious education or in the office itself, we are hoping for folks to help keep our welcoming presence throughout the week. If that might be you, please let me know, and I’ll help connect you with the newly forming teams.
Likewise, I’ll also be offering two Wellspring small groups on Wednesdays that I will be facilitating this Fall. Think of them as collaborative spiritual direction groups to talk through the challenges of the day through the lens of our Unitarian Universalist faith. More information on those are in the Spiral, and in our Lifespan Faith Development section in this month’s newsletter.
We have a vibrant community, and it’s my hope that we can deepen our connections with one another in the months and years to come!
