Winter Shelter News
WUU will be hosting the Community of Faith Mission (COFM) Emergency Winter Shelter this fall for two weeks, Nov. 23-Dec. 7.
Nov. 23-Nov. 30 COFM will be supplying volunteers and meals in our WUU building. Nov. 30-Dec. 7 WUU will be providing volunteers and meals in our space. Rooms 108 and 109 will be free but the Little Sanctuary will be unavailable Nov. 23-Dec. 7.
Calling all WUUers, friends and family! Here’s how you can help to once again make this a great week (Nov. 30 - Dec. 7) for our guests. They tell us each year that WUU is one of their favorite locations!
Folks are needed to assist with check-in, overnight shift one and two (super easy and the perfect time to read a good book or catch up on emails! Plus, there is a shelter manager throughout the night), cooking, serving, and clearing up after dinner and breakfast, and help with the morning checkout. We also need some muscles to help load/unload the trailer and rearrange the Sanctuary a few times.
So, it’s time to click on the SignUpGenius NOW to book your spot for volunteering at the shelter! Don’t miss out on this amazing volunteer time to show our less fortunate neighbors that WUU is there for them!

We will be having a cafe conversation after the service on Sunday Nov 2 for anyone who needs more information or help with signing up.
Kerry Mellette and Jacki Bruce will provide information and sign up details for the evening meals service.
Questions? Contact Kate McGaw, Helen Hansen, Kerry Mellette, or Jacki Bruce.
Note: The kitchen stove will be turned on November 21-December 7 to prepare shelter meals. The smell of gas will be present in the main building as a result.
