“Summoning the Braver Angels of Our Nature” - Jodi Fisler, Guest Worship Leader
In a time of deep division, how can we honor each other's dignity and restore civic trust, even as we passionately disagree? Join us as we explore the hope, courage, and compassion that can heal our democracy.
Jodi Fisler has been a member of WUU for almost 25 years. She recently stepped down as this congregation's UU the Vote chair after five years organizing nonpartisan voter engagement postcard drives to Black and brown people in states with a history of voter suppression. She served for several years on the board of All Together Williamsburg, and now co-chairs the Central/Eastern Virginia Alliance of Braver Angels, a national grassroots organization dedicated to restoring civic trust and building bridges across political differences. As part of her day job at the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, she promotes constructive dialogue and civic engagement among Virginia's undergraduates.
