Bringing together great performers and great audiences!
Live Off Five! concerts are presented by Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists, but you don’t have to be a member to attend. All are invited and encouraged to join us for outstanding performances by regional and national touring artists–artists whose music touches the heart, the soul, the funnybone, and everything else that makes us human.
Scheduled Performances
Bill and Macon Gurley with bassist Gray Granger
Saturday, August 23, 2008, 7:30 pm

Pam Gurley has fulfilled a life-long dream to open her own restaurant, so Bill will be joined by their daughter Macon to carry on the tradition of delighting audiences with those fantastic family harmonies.
Wishing Chair
Friday, September 12, 2008, 7:30 pm

We presented Kiya and Miriam at a benefit concert when we were fighting the so-called marriage amendment as well as at a regular season concert. This “folk and roll” duo “has a passion about the truth, about being emotionally available to tell it, and that for me is the essence of folk music.”–Euan Bear. Dinner before this show will be hosted by the Welcoming Congregation Committee (more information to follow).
Johnsmith
Friday, October 10, 2008, 7:30 PM

You may remember that Johnsmith (yes, all one word) was the very first Live Off Five! artist. A veteran performer who has released eight albums, Johnsmith has build up a strong following among lovers of folk music who appreciate his soulful lyrics and energetic style. We’re thrilled to have him return and share his terrific music—and maybe a few stories from his most recent tour of Ireland!
Greg Greenway
Friday, January 30, 2009

Greg Greenway also has played Live Off Five!, and he’s back by popular demand! Described as a “one man tour de force, Greg draws his inspiration from all over the map–gospel, rock, blues, even world music. But the central appeal of his music is that it comes through the singular lens of Greg’s humanity and his soulful affinity for the audience.”
The spring 09 concert schedule will be posted soon–please check back!!
