The Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists History
Chronology
1996

March 31:  The Reverend John Buehrens, UUA president, leads the dedication service for the Fahs House and the church building.

October 6:  Congregation votes to expand the church campus with the purchase of adjacent property and house.

1997

February:  The congregation membership passes the 200 mark with over 100 students registered in RE.

Summer:  RE space changes include the new house on our campus. Younger students are taught in the Fahs house; middle and high school students meet in the new house.

Fall:  The Long Range Planning committee organizes cottage meetings to develop goals for WUUs future.   Information from these meetings is collected to develop an ambitious long range plan –Vision 2007—leading us toward a multiple staff ministry, multiple services, increased social action in the community, and much more.

1998

September:  The Reverend James VanderWeele begins his one-year internship with the Williamsburg UUs.

1999

November:  A WUU tradition celebrating the feast day of St. Cecelia, the patron saint of music, begins.  Each year the choir performs a major choral work with chamber music accompaniment.
