June
14: Reverend Reynolds leads his last WUU worship service.
September: The Reverend Eileen Karpeles serves as our interim
minister until June 1993.

January:
The Williamsburg UUs acquire the Ironbound
Partner’s shares and become owners of the UU House and land.
June:
The worship committee holds our first service on the
Ironbound property, seated outdoors under the old oak tree.
We speak about our dreams of what our church building will
mean to each of us.
September: The Reverend Mark Edmiston-Lange begins his two-year stay as
our interim minister.
November
7: We initiate a capital campaign to finance the building of our
church. |

September:
WUUs celebrate Miracle Sunday; we add $50,000 to our
pledges to meet our expenses for Home 95.
October
23: After the worship service, the congregation walks through the
woods to our property and celebrates breaking ground for a
building. |

The
TJ District nominates the Williamsburg UUs for the O. Eugene
Pickett Award given annually to the congregation that has made an
outstanding contribution to the growth of Unitarian Universalism.
May 21: The Reverend Dr. Randolph W. B. Becker is called
as the Williamsburg UUs first settled minister

Summer: Through the generosity of Jamie Fahs, a charter WUU member,
the UU House is remodeled and renamed the Sophia Lyon Fahs
Religious Education House in honor of Jamie’s mother-in-law, the
foremost religious educator of the 20th century in the Unitarian
Universalists tradition.
October
29: WUUs walked
down Ironbound Road from our
temporary home at Clara Byrd Baker School to celebrate the
completion of our church building.
